Reminders that follow a schedule that keeps changing

By , founder, Saulutions

A fixed 9-to-5 reminder fails when your week rotates between days and nights. Ari learns your schedule from what you tell it, and you update it with one message when the rota changes. Reminders, habits, and appointments then follow the schedule you have this week.

Where things slip

  • Alarm and reminder apps assume a regular day, so reminders fire while you are asleep or at work.
  • Each new rota means re-entering reminders and habits by hand.
  • Appointments for dentists and banks are hard to place around changing shifts.

How Ari helps

Tell Ari your hours

Tell Ari when you wake and when you go to bed, for example "nights this week, up at 4pm, in bed by 8am." Ari saves your waking hours and bedtime and takes them into account when planning check-ins. If a time does not suit you, say so and Ari changes it.

Move everything with one message

When the rota changes, text the new shifts. Ari moves the reminders and habit check-ins that depended on the old schedule instead of leaving them stale.

Calendar-aware booking

Once Google Calendar is connected, Ari reads your shifts and finds the open gaps for appointments, and checks for collisions before booking.

Habits that survive a rotation

A habit such as a workout or a meal prep can sit on rest days. Ari logs done, missed, or a rest day, so a night shift does not read as failure.

What it looks like

An invented example of a rota change.

  1. You: switched to nights starting monday, 7pm to 7am
  2. Ari: Updated. Your workout check-in moves from 6pm to 4pm to fit nights. Anything else that should shift?
  3. You: dentist is wednesday at 10
  4. Ari: That lands right after your Tuesday night shift ends. Keep it, or look for a later slot?

What to keep in mind

  • Ari does not read your employer's scheduling system. Ari knows the shifts you tell it or put on a connected calendar.
  • Ari is AI and can be wrong. Check shift times before relying on them.

Text Ari this week's shifts.
