Comparison
Ari vs ChatGPT vs Claude as agents that do things
ChatGPT and Claude are the strongest general assistants there are. Ari is built for a narrower job: living in your messages, following up on your life, and doing the errands around it.

How we compared
Facts about ChatGPT and Claude come from OpenAI's and Anthropic's own pages, checked on 24 October 2026, and the sources are listed at the end. Features differ by plan, region, and rollout, so check the current plan pages before deciding. Ari is our product.
Memory
ChatGPT keeps saved memories and can reference your chat history. Claude remembers across conversations. Both are designed for helping you in a chat.
Ari's memory is a temporal knowledge graph built on Graphiti: people, goals, preferences, and habits stored as dated, connected facts, so a changed fact becomes history. You can browse the graph in the web app, and Ari uses it to notice patterns in your days and follow up on them.
Skills, plugins, and connectors
ChatGPT Work connects to tools through plugins. Claude has skills and connectors, including MCP servers. Both ecosystems are much larger than Ari's integration list.
Ari has six native integrations (Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Tasks, Google Drive, Todoist, and Notion), searches and installs skills from the open skills.sh library from chat after an automatic safety scan, and writes new skills on request. Ari does not support MCP servers.
Computer and browser
ChatGPT Work can use a browser running on a separate computer in the cloud; you can take over if it gets blocked, and it asks for confirmation before consequential actions such as a booking or payment. Cloud browsing is on paid plans except Go, and signing in to websites is limited to Plus and Pro on web and mobile, subject to rollout. Claude can use a computer and works in Chrome through Claude in Chrome on paid plans.
Ari has a private cloud computer for every account, with files that stay between conversations, and a live browser you can watch from the web chat or a tap-to-watch link on iMessage, Discord, or Telegram. Ari asks you to confirm before buying, sending, or submitting anything. Ari does not control your own laptop.
Where you talk to it, and who goes first
ChatGPT and Claude live in their own apps and websites, and both can run scheduled tasks you set up. Neither lists a native iMessage channel.
Ari lives in iMessage, Telegram, and Discord, plus the web chat. Ari checks in on your habits and commitments by message, reviews each habit weekly, and handles a miss with a smaller next step instead of a broken-streak lecture.
Which one to use
For deep research, long writing, analysis, and coding, use ChatGPT or Claude. For an assistant in your messages that keeps your goals and habits on track and runs the errands around them, use Ari. Many people use one of the big assistants for thinking and Ari for follow-through.
