Comparison

AI accountability assistants compared: Ari, KELO, Poke, Lindy, Pensy, Discy, and Shelpful

These seven products all promise follow-through, and they solve it in different ways: some text you, some are apps you open, one offers human coaches. The right one depends on where you will actually answer.

How we compared

Every fact about another product below comes from that product's own website, checked on 24 October 2026, and the sources are listed at the end. Where a site does not say something, we say "not stated" rather than guessing. Products change quickly, so check each site before you decide.

Ari is our product. We have tried to be fair, and each product's strengths are listed alongside Ari's.

KELO

KELO (textkelo.com) is an AI accountability coach that works over SMS, available in the US and Canada. Check-ins depend on the plan: daily check-ins on Basic, morning and afternoon check-ins on Pro. The plans shown are priced per year, and the number of active goals depends on the plan.

Where KELO is strong: one focused job, and SMS reaches any phone. Ari's side-by-side page has the detail: Ari vs KELO.

Poke

Poke (poke.com) is a proactive AI assistant you use through Messages, WhatsApp, and Telegram. Poke connects to services such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Notion, GitHub, Linear, Asana, Todoist, and Strava, uses its memory and your connected services to help at the right time, and sets up automations it calls recipes.

Where Poke is strong: WhatsApp reach, a wide integration list, and automations. Poke is a general assistant first; habit coaching is not its focus.

Lindy

Lindy (lindy.ai) describes itself as an AI employee for your whole team. Lindy works in Slack, iMessage, email, and your browser, connects to more than 1,500 apps and to hosted MCP servers, keeps memory in plain files you can edit, and says nothing irreversible happens without your approval; actions that write or send can wait for it.

Where Lindy is strong: work and team automation at scale. Lindy is built for work, not for personal habits.

Pensy

Pensy (pensy.ai) is an AI coach for self-awareness. You meet for a short session at the times you choose, by typing or with your voice, and Pensy remembers goals, commitments, and patterns that you can see, correct, or delete. Pensy follows up on what you committed to, and paid plans add a weekly report.

Where Pensy is strong: structured reflection sessions and editable memory. Pensy says it never does the task for you.

Discy

Discy (discyhabit.com) is a habit and productivity app for iOS, Android, Windows, and the web that links habits, goals, tasks, notes, journaling, and mood, with AI coaching, smart reminders, and habit check-ins you can attach a photo to.

Where Discy is strong: a full tracking workspace. Discy is an app you open; check-ins by message are not stated on its site.

Shelpful

Shelpful (shelpful.com) offers an AI task manager app for iPhone and Android and an AI coach that texts gentle check-ins. Shelpful's FAQ says its AI buddy, HabitGPT, chats over WhatsApp and does not currently keep a long-term tracker, and describes human accountability coaches: real people, based in the US, who text with you.

Where Shelpful is strong: a real person is available.

Where Ari fits

Ari is an AI you text on iMessage, Telegram, or Discord, plus the web chat once you have an account. Ari's habit coaching uses behaviour-change techniques: if-then plans, recovery after a miss instead of streak shame, and weekly habit reviews.

Ari's memory is a temporal knowledge graph built on Graphiti that you can see in the web app. Ari also connects to Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Tasks, Google Drive, Todoist, and Notion, can search and install skills, and has a private cloud computer and a live browser for errands.

Where Ari is weaker: no SMS or WhatsApp, no human coach, and far fewer integrations than Lindy or Poke. Ari is AI and can be wrong.
